Welcome
On behalf of the faculty and staff at the Center on Race, Religion and Urban Life (CORRUL), welcome to our new and improved website. We hope you enjoy learning more about our research, teaching and writing efforts.
Founded in 2005, CORRUL has been advancing knowledge in three dynamic, interconnected dimensions of the 21st-century society – race, religion and urban life. The faculty have made valuable contributions to the academy and society at-large with award winning publications and recognition as “superior” teachers. Yet as recent world events suggest social problems such as racial and ethnic inequality, religious persecution and unsustainable development seem to be more pervasive than ever before. The need is great for more understanding of the underlying conflicts behind social problems. CORRUL sees the need and has made strategic investments of time and resources to better address them.
To ensure institutional support was aligned with CORRUL's priorities, we hired an executive director to guide CORRUL’s efforts. We are also implementing a new communication and outreach initiative including this website and perhaps most importantly, a reaffirmation in our belief that our work have a practical impact on people’s lives.
We are a dedicated team and this new website is an important step towards helping us accomplish our goals. To learn more about CORRUL, please take a moment to view the video by clicking on the link below. We look forward to working with you for the betterment of urban society.
